2. Lighting
- Examine all lamps.
- Are the headlights and the rear light working?
- How is the condition?
- Are stone chips, cracks or moisture visible?
3. engine compartment
- Inspect the engine bay: is this clean and sparkling like new?
- Note: An engine wash may be a sign that the seller wants to cover up leaks.
- Check the fluid levels: oil level, cooling water, steering gear, brake fluid,
- Check the condition of the hoses: are the hoses porous or leaking?
- Are all clamps on the hoses tight? (Drip liquids?)
- Pay attention to the toothed belt, if the car have one: Inquire about the toothed belt and get proof of when and by whom it was replaced. In this way you avoid possible engine damage. Now test whether the bonnet closes easily and cleanly.

- Can you hear noises?
- Does the car brake evenly?
Caution: Never test brakes on the Autobahn! - Air conditioning: does the air conditioning and heating work?
- Is the ventilation ok?
6. Underbody
- Defects are best recognized after the test drive
- Condition of the engine: is there oil dripping?
- What does the exhaust system look like? This is where the most common shortcomings hide.
- Are the brake pads OK?
- Is there sufficient document strength?

Very many customers would have, to put it sportily, "wet the toilet".
and bought a car with engine failure starting, we would have these
The cylinders were "NOT" checked in advance.
