A Special Milestone Deserves a Special Car.
Porsche announces the 2022 Porsche 911 Edition 50 Years Porsche Design.
This special car commemorates the 50th anniversary of Porsche Design, the firm founded in 1972 by Ferdinand Alexander (F. A.) Porsche, designer of the 911 and son of Ferry Porsche. Based on the 911 Targa 4 GTS, the new model is limited to 750 units globally. All examples of the limited model will be finished in black.
Additionally, several sections of the exterior are finished in Satin Platinum. These include 20/21-inch center-locking 911 Turbo S wheels, the Targa bar and PORSCHE DESIGN logos on the doors. Brake calipers in high gloss black and a special “50 Years Porsche Design” badge on the engine grille is included.
Interior Design
The interior also has several special touches including a silver, numbered badge on the dashboard trim indicating that this is a limited production vehicle. The center console lid also bears the signature of Ferdinand Alexander Porsche, founder of Porsche Design and son of Ferry Porsche.
Sport-Tex seat centers with a checked pattern in Black and Cool Grey, headrests embossed with the 50 Years Porsche Design logo and a center marker on the GT Sport steering wheel in Slate Grey are also all special to this model.
An elevated level of standard equipment also sets this model apart from the 911 Targa 4 GTS that it is based on. That list includes 18-way Adaptive Sport Seats Plus, seat belts in Slate Grey, and the Sport Chrono Package with Porsche Design Subsecond Clock, distinguished in this case by a red second hand.
At the heart of this very special 911 Targa 4 GTS is a 3.0-liter, twin-turbo flat-six engine that’s unchanged from the conventional model, with 473 hp and 420 lb.-ft. of torque, standard Porsche Traction Management (PTM) all-wheel drive, a standard eight-speed Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) transmission with the option for a seven-speed manual at no additional cost, and Sport Exhaust. Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV+) is also included as standard with the eight-speed PDK, while the seven-speed manual transmission includes a mechanically locking rear differential (PTV).

RUF Rodeo Concept
Inspired by RUF clients Ralph Lauren and Bruce Meyer, the car is based around RUF’s carbon-fiber chassis. Under the hood sits either a RUF-designed naturally aspirated flat-six making around 510 horsepower or a twin-turbo six with 700 horsepower. And, it’s four-wheel-drive!
eRUF
Built all the way back in 2008, this electric car is better known as the eRUF. Using electric motors from UQM Technologies, this car produces 201 hp and 480 lb-ft of torque, with a top speed of 140 mph and a driving range of 155 to 199 miles.
RUF VW T4
Some argue that the RUF VW T4 is RUF’s most outlandish project ever. RUF had fun with this one when it planted a 3.6-liter twin-turbo flat-six engine from the 993 Turbo into a T4 van!
RUF Dakara
Back in 2009, RUF introduced its first SUV model based on the Porsche Cayenne. Called the RUF Dakara, it used a tuned 4.5-liter version of the Cayenne’s twin-turbo V8 producing 591 hp and 656 lb-ft of torque, up from 550 hp and 553 lb-ft in the Cayenne Turbo S.
2012 RUF CTR3 Clubsport
The CTR3 Clubsport is one of the quickest RUF vehicles ever produced. It can get from 0 to 60 mph in 3.2 seconds and has a top speed of 233 mph.

Porsche Cars North America, Inc. (PCNA) announced retail deliveries in 2021 totaled 70,025 new vehicles – PCNA’s best year ever, up 22 percent from the year before and 14 percent above the previous record set in 2019. Fourth quarter deliveries also achieved a new high for the final three months at 18,410, or 5 percent above the same quarter in 2020. Orders ended the year at the highest level recorded, with customer demand across all model lines and all three powertrains: electric, plug-in and combustion.
“I’d like to thank our loyal customers and welcome every new friend who joined the Porsche family in 2021. Our sales were driven by the strongest and most exciting lineup of cars we’ve ever had, combined with a shared commitment with our dealers to raising the bar for customer experience,” said Kjell Gruner, President and CEO of PCNA. “It was a fascinating year, as sales of the Taycan more than doubled while the 911 benefited from the growing popularity of the icon’s latest generation. We worked together with our dealer network to meet and perhaps exceed the expectations of our customers when it comes to enjoying a Porsche – as confirmed by top rankings from J.D. Power for both sales and service satisfaction. Overall, we enter the new year with even greater momentum for the Porsche brand in America.”
Deliveries of the Porsche 911 outpaced Taycan sales for 2021 as a whole after trading places in previous quarters. The 911 totaled 10,042 deliveries, an increase of 14 percent from the year before. Overall full-year performance was led by the Macan and Cayenne, for a combined record of 42,015 SUV deliveries. The 718 Cayman and 718 Boxster were up 25 percent and the Panamera by 10 percent. Fully electric cars made up 13.5 percent of all deliveries in 2021, for a combined electrified share of 17 percent including plug-in hybrids.
Porsche Approved Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) sales in the U.S. totaled 8,377 vehicles in the fourth quarter, up 18 percent. For the full year 2021, CPO sales were up 10 percent for a record 30,024 deliveries. This means that PCNA and its dealers, for the first time, delivered more than 100,000 cars in total to customers when new and CPO Porsche models are combined, for a 2021 total of 100,049.

Limited edition anniversary model: the Boxster 25 years
Right at the start of the year, Porsche celebrated the 25th birthday of the roadster family by releasing an anniversary model: the special ‘Boxster 25 Years’ edition. This was limited to just 1,250 examples worldwide and made several visual references to the design features of the Boxster concept car – which itself heralded the success story of the open-top two-seater at the 1993 Detroit Motor Show. The production version of the Boxster was launched in 1996 with very few visual changes from the concept and is now in its fourth generation, with more than 357,000 examples having been built.
Porsche extends the Taycan model range
With the new Taycan, Porsche launched the fourth version of its first all-electric sports saloon after the Taycan Turbo S, Taycan Turbo and Taycan 4S. This model features rear-wheel drive and is available with two battery sizes. A single-deck Performance battery with a gross capacity of 79.2 kWh is fitted as standard. The two-deck Performance Battery Plus (93.4 kWh) is available as an option.

The Porsche 911 GT3 with motorsport expertise
The seventh edition of this high-performance sports car was developed in close collaboration with Porsche Motorsport. During the final tuning work, it made its way around the Nürburgring Nordschleife, traditionally the benchmark for all Porsche sports cars, more than 17 seconds faster than the previous model. Development driver Lars Kern needed just 6:59.927 minutes for a full 20.8-km lap.
Two lives, one passion: the perfect line
A summit meeting with a difference in the Swiss Alps: Porsche head designer Michael Mauer and skiing legend Aksel Lund Svindal set out in search of the perfect line, talking about courage, inspiration and passion. The associated film was featured at this year’s Cannes Corporate Media & TV Awards among other film festivals.

Taycan Cross Turismo: the all-rounder among electric sports cars
Porsche extended the product portfolio of its first all-electric sports car series with the addition of the Taycan Cross Turismo in March. The new high-tech chassis with all-wheel drive and adaptive air suspension also delivers uncompromising dynamics off-road. With 36 millimetres of extra headroom for rear-seat passengers and more than 15.7 cubic feet of load capacity, accessed through the large tailgate at the rear, the Cross Turismo is a true all-rounder.
Business success and corporate responsibility
In March, Porsche released its balance sheet for the previous financial year: Porsche AG set a new revenue record in 2020: the company’s value grew to 28.7 billion euros, surpassing the previous year’s figure by more than 100 million euros. At the annual press conference, the sports car manufacturer announced an ambitious target for the future, with plans to have a CO2-neutral balance sheet across its entire value chain by 2030.

Porsche Tennis Grand Prix offers a multimedia tennis experience
As the 44th edition of the long-standing tournament at Stuttgart’s Porsche Arena had to be held without spectators due to the coronavirus pandemic, a lot of effort went into expanding the offering for tennis fans to include television and internet options. For the first time ever, every match was broadcast live on the tournament website and viewers were also able to catch a glimpse of the action on social media. The winner of the tournament was the world number one, Australia’s Ashleigh Barty.
The 20th anniversary of Porsche in mainland China
Porsche delivered its first sports cars to mainland China 20 years ago. Since then, it has become the company’s largest single market. To mark the anniversary, Porsche China presented the 911 Turbo S 20 Years Porsche China special edition at the Shanghai motor show. The design concept reflects the combination of heritage and innovation – values that apply to both Chinese culture and Porsche.

Prototypes of the all-electric Macan
The all-electric Macan was readied for the road: after initial testing on the proving grounds of the Porsche Development Centre in Weissach, the well-camouflaged, next-generation prototypes of the compact SUV left the Porsche premises for the first time. By the time the all-electric Macan is launched onto the market in 2023, it will have covered some three million test kilometres worldwide, in varying conditions. The prototypes have already benefited from the experience gained over countless previous test kilometres driven virtually.
An even stronger commitment to society
The Ferry Porsche Foundation published its annual report for 2020 and took the opportunity to look back on the charitable work that it completed over the past year. The foundation supported more than 90 charitable projects in 2020 – primarily at a regional level, but also some national and international projects.

Porsche rounds off the Cayenne model range
Consistently set up for maximum performance and handling, the new Cayenne Turbo GT combines a harmonious overall concept with superb racetrack capability. This was proven by Porsche test driver Lars Kern, who lapped the 20.832-km Nürburgring Nordschleife with the Cayenne Turbo GT in 7:38.9 minutes, setting a new official SUV record.
Porsche 911 GT3 R wins the Nürburgring 24-hour race
The Manthey customer team clinched its seventh outright victory at the Nürburgring 24-hour race. At the 49th edition of the endurance classic, works drivers Kévin Estre from France, Michael Christensen from Denmark and the Italian Matteo Cairoli crossed the finish line in first place at the wheel of the Porsche 911 GT3 R with the #911 race number. This triumph completed the 25th anniversary celebrations of the team from the Eifel region.

Bugatti-Rimac combines the genes of strong brands
Porsche and Rimac agreed to set up a joint venture that incorporates Bugatti. Oliver Blume and Mate Rimac signed the corresponding agreements and announced the name of the new hypercar manufacturer: Bugatti-Rimac. The joint venture has its headquarters in Zagreb (Croatia) and was established in the fourth quarter of 2021.
Stronger, sharper, sportier: the new Macan
Porsche launched the new Macan with increased performance, a sharper design and a new operating concept. All three models offer significantly more power than the previous versions. There have been 600,000 Macans delivered worldwide since its market launch in 2014. It has a special role in the Porsche range because around 80 per cent of all Macan buyers are new Porsche customers. In addition, the proportion of women buying the Macan is the highest across all Porsche product lines.

Podium finish at the 24 Hours of Le Mans
Porsche secured a podium spot in the fiercely contested GTE Pro class at the 89th 24 Hours of Le Mans race. Works drivers Kévin Estre, Neel Jani and Michael Christensen achieved third place in the No. 92 Porsche 911 RSR. The No. 91 sister car driven by Gianmaria Bruni, Richard Lietz and Frédéric Makowiecki came fourth.
Limited edition racing car for exclusive circuit outings
Porsche Motorsport celebrated the 25th anniversary of Manthey-Racing GmbH with an extraordinary special edition model. With a production run of just 30 cars, the 911 GT2 RS Clubsport 25 was designed and developed by Porsche and Manthey for track days and circuit racing.

The Porsche think tank celebrated a big anniversary in October: the Weissach Development Centre was opened 50 years ago. Since then, the Weissach Development Centre has been synonymous with innovative vehicles and intelligent development services.
The Porsche workforce raises 200,000 euros
The first Porsche Virtual Run raised 200,000 euros for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. More than 2,300 Porsche employees around the world laced up their running shoes between 17 September and 3 October 2021, covering a total of 67,559 km for a good cause. Porsche AG offered a donation of 50 cents for every kilometre run.

The Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS was launched as the new flagship of the 718 family – an uncompromising driver’s car designed to impress with its lightweight construction, extremely agile chassis tuning, sophisticated aerodynamics and unique sound. Historic colours make a comeback for all Porsche models
With its new Paint to Sample and Paint to Sample Plus options, Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur expanded its range of special exterior colours for all model series. The virtual racing car of the future
Porsche and the Japanese video game development studio Polyphony Digital Inc., a subsidiary of Sony Interactive Entertainment, present a spectacular vehicle concept: The Porsche Vision Gran Turismo is the sports car manufacturer’s first concept study created specifically for use in a computer game. It will be available exclusively in Gran Turismo 7. While it is a concept of a virtual racing car, a real-life model was built in Weissach as part of its development.
Cellforce production location confirmed, close to Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen
Cellforce Group GmbH confirmed its plans to build a production facility for high-performance battery cells on the north Reutlingen/Kirchentellinsfurt industrial estate. The facility will initially produce high-performance battery cells for a 1,000 vehicles per year. Its capacity is 100 MWh per year, and production is due to start in 2024. Mit einer Gala-Vorstellung verteidigt der 25-jährige Niederländer seinen Titel im deutschen Carrera-Cup. Larry ten Voorde (Team GP Elite) ist nach seinem achten Saisonsieg zum zweiten Mal in Folge Champion des Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland. Auf dem Hockenheimring Baden-Württemberg gewann der Niederländer am Samstag den 15. Saisonlauf und liegt mit 306 Punkten vor dem finalen Rennen am Sonntag uneinholbar an der Tabellenspitze. „Das war eine harte Saison, ich bin überglücklich. Im Rennen habe ich mich voll auf meine Leistung konzentriert, aber als ich um die letzte Kurve gefahren bin, kamen die Emotionen durch“, sagte ten Voorde. Die Podiumsplätze zwei und drei beim Rennen im Rahmenprogramm des ADAC GT Masters belegten Laurin Heinrich (Deutschland/Van Berghe Huber Racing) und Morris Schuring (Niederlande/Team GP Elite). Der Carrera Cup Deutschland trägt am kommenden Wochenende seine Saisonrennen 15 und 16 aus. Mit sieben Rennsiegen aus der laufenden Saison im Gepäck, kommt der Niederländer Larry ten Voorde zum Saisonfinale nach Hockenheim und hat beste Erfolgsaussichten seinen Titel zu verteidigen. Ten Voorde (281 Punkte) hat vor den letzten beiden Rennen einen beruhigenden Vorsprung von 24 Punkten auf seinen einzigen Rivalen im Titelkampf Ayhancan Güven. Larry ten Voordes Team „Grand Prix Elite“ aus dem holländischen De Rijp in der Nähe von Amsterdam, sicherte sich beim vorletzten Rennen auf dem Sachsenring bereits den Teamtitel 2021. Sollte Larry ten Voorde am Sonntag als Meister feststehen, wäre er der erste, der seinen Titel im Supercup und in der deutschen Ausgabe des Carrera Cups, zweimal hintereinander gewinnt.

Mit seinem vierten Saisonsieg hält Ayhancan Güven (Türkei/Phoenix Racing) den Titelkampf im Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland weiter offen. Der Porsche Junior setzte sich am Sonntag beim 14. Saisonlauf auf dem Sachsenring gegen Christopher Zöchling (Österreich/Fach Auto Tech) und Larry ten Voorde (Niederlande/Team GP Elite) durch. Vorm Saisonfinale in Hockenheim (22. bis 24. Oktober) führt somit Samstagssieger ten Voorde 24 Punkte vor Güven. Maximal 50 Zähler gibt es noch zu holen. „Mir war klar, dass ich gewinnen muss, um meine Chancen im Titelrennen entscheidend zu verbessern. Die habe ich genutzt. Beim Finale muss ich dieses Ergebnis wiederholen“, sagte Güven. Eine Entscheidung fiel bereits in der Teamwertung: Zwei Rennen vor Saisonende sicherte sich das Team GP Elite hier den Gesamtsieg.

Larry ten Voorde (Team GP Elite) hat am Samstag den 13. Saisonlauf im Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland gewonnen. Mit seinem siebten Saisonsieg konnte der Niederländer den Vorsprung in der Meisterschaft auf Porsche Junior Ayhancan Güven (Türkei/Phoenix Racing) auf 33 Punkte erhöhen. „Mit Blick auf die Gesamtwertung war das ein wichtiger Erfolg. Beim Start bin ich nicht an Ayhancan Güven vorbeigekommen, aber kurz darauf gab es eine Lücke und die habe ich genutzt“, sagte ten Voorde. Güven belegte beim Rennen im Rahmen des ADAC GT Masters Rang zwei. Über seinen ersten Podiumsplatz im deutschen Markenpokal freute sich Julian Hanses (Deutschland/HRT Performance).

Wichtiger Erfolg für Larry ten Voorde (Team GP Elite) auf seiner Mission Titelverteidigung im Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland. Der Niederländer gewann am Sonntag im italienischen Autodromo Nazionale Monza den zwölften Saisonlauf vor Porsche Junior Ayhancan Güven (Türkei/Phoenix Racing) und Bastian Buus (Dänemark/Allied-Racing). „Die nasse Fahrbahn trocknete Runde für Runde ab, das waren spezielle Bedingungen. Ayhancan Güven und ich haben uns ein intensives Duell geliefert, das hat großen Spaß gemacht. Am Ende hatte ich die Nase vorn“, sagte ten Voorde. Mit seinem Sieg im Rahmen der International GT Open konnte der Vorjahres-Champion seine Tabellenführung im Carrera Cup ausbauen und liegt in der Gesamtwertung 28 Punkte vor Samstagssieger Güven.

Dritter Sieg und damit weiterhin im Titelrennen des Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland: Ayhancan Güven (Türkei/Phoenix Racing) gewann am Samstag im Autodromo Nazionale Monza in Italien den elften Saisonlauf des Markenpokals. „Ein großartiges Rennen! Mein Start war leider nicht optimal, aber danach lief es richtig gut. Laurin Heinrich hat lange Zeit souverän geführt, aber ich habe ich den letzten Runden Druck gemacht und wusste, dass ich geduldig auf einen Fehler warten muss. Das hat sich ausgezahlt“, sagte der Porsche Junior. Die beiden Deutschen Laurin Heinrich (Van Berghe Huber Racing) und Leon Köhler (Nebulus Racing by Huber) komplettierten das Podium beim Rennen im Rahmen der International GT Open.
