Dear friends,
are you familiar with this racing car? Probably not.
Back at the turn of the century, an open sports prototype
was built at Weissach and given the project name LMP-2000,
to reflect the category in which this car was to compete at
Le Mans, among other events.
Before the first kilometres could be completed on the company's
test track, Porsche bosses called a halt to all work on the car
because the regulations for the LMP class had changed.
But not all was lost: later, the monocoque and the V10 engine
installed behind the driver would give rise to the Carrera GT
road sports car.
Best regards
